John Lennon adorning Liverpool gateway

London (ANI): A 14ft image of John Lennon has been painted at a key gateway to Liverpool to mark the city's year as 'European Capital of Culture'. The mural depicting the Beatles has been created on a gable end in Litherland, with the whole group on a wall next to it - with images of Pete Best and Stuart Sutcliffe walking away, reports Times Online. The mural was commissioned by the Riverside Group housing association from the Belfast artists Mark Ervine and Danny Devenny. The artists worked with local artists on the gable end. The gable end is in the style of the cover of John Lennon's album 'Rock'n'Roll'.
